Teaching and Speaking

Michael Leclerc speaking to St. Louis Genealogical SocietyI come from a family of teachers, and clearly it runs in my blood. I love teaching people how to find and share their ancestors. There is something about seeing the light go on in someone’s eyes when they pick up a new concept for their research that is incredibly gratifying.

I have spoken to audiences of all sizes, from a few individuals to thousands of people. From church basements, cruise ships and convention centers to online webinars, I have enjoyed presenting to genealogists around the world. I have also been privileged to be a facilitator for  the Boston University Center for Professional Education’s Genealogical Research Program since 2010.

Speaking formats include one-hour presentation; three-hour, half-day, or longer workshops; and lively luncheon/dinner presentations. Topics including: research methodology, writing and other ways to share your family history, England, New England, French Canada, and more.
